Ng Say Leng 40 years old | SMA type 2
Hi everyone, my name is Ng Say Leng.
I wanted to share my journey with you all. I’m in my 40s now and working as the IT Department Manager at Dual Blessings, where I also have the privilege of teaching IT courses to other OKU.
In 2005, my sister Bee Kean and I made a courageous decision to leave Penang and move to KL for a better life. It was only upon arriving in KL that we finally received an accurate diagnosis of SMA. Despite the challenges, I’ve managed to live independently with the help of a caregiver.
I used to love scuba diving and traveling. I could get around in my motorized wheelchair and do my work with ease. But things have changed. Now, I need assistance with eating, can’t feed myself, feel tired easily, and can’t really drive my motorized wheelchair anymore.
I need treatment so I can continue to work. I hope that I can get help from the government for funding. Please share my story. Thank you all for your support and encouragement.
